Our Elders Group is funded by the local authority and operated under the supervision of the Association. It is given use of the council owned Taylor Road Day Centre in Mitcham on each Thursday.

Memberships are open to paid-up members of LSWCCA of age 60 and over, and of Chinese origin. Priorities are given to Merton Residents and then neighbouring boroughs, and to those who are senior elderly or mobility impaired.

The aims of the Elders Group are:

• To offer friendship, eliminating isolation, loneliness and depression
• To promote Health and Safety, well-being, healthy eating and lifestyles
• To acknowledge, maintain and enjoy independence, and postpone the onset of physical and sensory impairments
• To extend the opportunity of access to health advice, and gain knowledge in self-management of health conditions and care
• To be aware of one's own vulnerability and of hazardous environments to prevent potential accidents
